Everything went according to plan when second ranked Spanish Real Madrid (22-9) won against at home 5th ranked Turkish Fenerbahce (18-13) 90-75 on Wednesday. Real Madrid made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Real Madrid looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Fenerbahce's players. It was a great evening for Hungarian swingman Adam Hanga (200-1989, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory scoring 11 points and 7 assists. Argentinian forward Gabriel Deck (198-1995) helped adding 6 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side Greek-American point guard Nick Calathes (196-1989, college: Florida) responded with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and American forward Nigel Hayes-Davis (203-1994, college: Wisconsin) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Real Madrid have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending Spanish champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Olympiacos. Defending Turkish champion Fenerbahce keeps the fifth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with M.Tel-Aviv. Real Madrid will meet Partizan (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Fenerbahce will play against Baskonia in Vitoria and hope to secure a win.
