Very important is a road loss of second ranked Spanish Real Madrid (22-10) against seventh ranked Serbian Partizan (18-14) on Friday night. Visiting Real Madrid was defeated by Partizan in Beograd 104-90. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Real Madrid. Partizan dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Real Madrid's 32 and made 25-of-31 charity shots (80.6 percent) during the game. Real Madrid was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of French center Mathias Lessort (206-1995, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American-Serbian Kevin Punter (192-1993, college: Tennessee) who added 16 points and 6 assists during the contest. Argentinian forward Gabriel Deck (198-1995) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Bosnian swingman Dzanan Musa (205-1999) scored 22 points. Five Partizan and four Real Madrid players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Partizan moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Fenerbahce. Defending Spanish champion Real Madrid keeps the second position with ten games lost. They share it with Barca. Partizan will play against higher ranked Monaco (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Real Madrid will play against Bayern Muenchen and hopes to get back on the winning track.
