There was a surprise result when eighth ranked HungarianUNI Gyor (2-10) won against at home higher ranked Polish Polkowice (6-6) 91-80 on Wednesday. UNI Gyor made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Polkowice turnovers. The winners were led by Canadian forward Bridget Carleton (185-1997, college: Iowa St.) who scored that evening 41 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) and American-Hungarian forward Cyesha Goree (188-1993, college: Michigan) supported her with 12 points. Even 12 points and 9 assists by point guard Weronika Gajda (174-1989) did not help to save the game for Polkowice . Slovenian guard Zala Friskovec (179-1999) added 18 points. Four Polkowice players scored in double figures. Polkowice's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. UNI Gyor maintains eighth position with 2-10 record, which they share with Lublin. Loser Polkowice keeps the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams.
