Very important is a home loss of second ranked SpanishFC Barcelona (18-9) against fifth ranked French Monaco (17-10) on Friday night. Host FC Barcelona was defeated by Monaco in Barcelona 77-67 . It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of FC Barcelona. It was a good game for American guard Mike James (185-1990, college: Lamar) who led his team to a victory with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Azerbaijani center Donta Hall (208-1997, college: Alabama) contributed with 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Monaco players scored in double figures. Czech center Jan Vesely (213-1990) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and Argentinian Nicolas Laprovittola (190-1990) added 13 points in the effort for Barca. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Monaco have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending French champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Panathinaikos and Virtus. Defending Spanish champion Barca keeps the second position with nine games lost.
