ECOMMBX BL Round 1 (Regular Season): Achilleas lose to Keravnos

The Regular Season in ECOMMBX BL just started. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Achilleas in Kaimakli on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by Keravnos 95-62. Keravnos looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Achilleas' players. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Nate Grimes (202-1996, college: Fresno St., agency: Diamond Sports) fired 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Tyrn Flowers (206-1998, college: LIU Brooklyn) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. Center Elijah Hutchins-Everett (208-2001, college: JMU) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Keravnos is looking forward to face Digenis in Morfou in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Achilleas will play at home against Apollon and is hoping to win this game.
Another exciting game was played in Limassol between AEK Larnaca and Apollon where AEK Larnaca crushed Apollon on the road with 34-point difference 90-56. Worth to mention a great performance of American Anthony Durham (190-1994, college: Rider) who helped to win the game recording 18 points. Panayiotis Pavlidis contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American forward Elijah Watson (201-2002, college: Northwood) answered with 12 points and 7 rebounds for Apollon. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AEK Larnaca will play against APOEL in Nicosia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Apollon will play on the road against Achilleas in Kaimakli and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game where host Paralimni won against Anorthosis 92-79 on Sunday evening. The game was also dominated by American players. Camryn Weston stepped up and scored 27 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. At the losing side Tyree Boykin responded with 16 points and 5 assists. Anorthosis' coach Daniel Nelson rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Paralimni will meet AEL in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Anorthosis will play against Etha and hope to win that game.

In the last two games of round 1 AEL lost to APOEL in Nicosia 73-80. Etha beat Digenis at home 76-65.
