Greece - Austria 81-53
Greece responded to its opening-day defeat by comfortably beating Austria 81-53. Athanasios Asimenios (200-F-2008) scored 16 points in only 17 minutes, making all 5 of his two-point attempts and 2 of his 3 shots from long range. Vasileios Chartonas (195-G-2008) recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Chrysostomos Chatzilamprou (200-F-2008) contributed 10 points and 8 rebounds. Denmark won the rebounding battle 57-55, but an extremely poor 11-of-38 performance from the free-throw line proved costly.
