SBL top team - Geneve (7-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Starwings (1-6) in Basel 117-55. Geneve dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Starwings' 28. Geneve forced 22 Starwings turnovers and had a 28-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. Geneve shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Starwings' players. It was a great evening for guard Zaid Weibel (191-2001, college: Fort Scott CC) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws). American swingman Corey Floyd Jr (193-2004, college: Providence) helped adding 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the losing side the former international forward Zachary Biku (203-2005) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Geneve have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-0 record. Starwings lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Lugano. Geneve are looking forward to face Massagno (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
