USA - Taiwan 129-45
USA stormed past Taiwan in Round of 16 clash. USA dominated from the start. They grabbed a 63-25 halftime lead and cruised to the victory in the second half. Nine players scored in double digits for the USA. Payton Verhulst (185-G-03) topscored with 18 points, while Te-Hina Paopao (175-G-02) contributed 16 points for the winners. Tang Shu Chun (166-SG-02) answered with 12 points for Taiwan.

South Korea - Mali 46-87
Mali cruised past South Korea in Round of 16 today. Mali led by 8 points at the interval 39-31. But the African powerhouse ignited a massive 48-15 second half run to seal a comfortable win. Sika Kone (190-F/C-02) tallied 19 points and 13 rebounds for Mali. Shin Yeyeong (171-F-03) netted 14 points for South Korea.

Italy - Hungary 48-54
Hungary outlasted Italy to enter the quarterfinal stage. Hungary looked dominant in the first half. The hosts built a 33-25 halftime lead. Italy narrowed the deficit to 3 points heading into the fourth term. But Hungary held their opponents to just 9 points in the final period to race to the win. Reka Dombai (179-SG-02) and Eszter Madar (186-F-02) notched 13 points each for Hungary. Ilaria Panzera (178-SG-02) and Giulia Natali (176-G-02, agency: LBM Management) responded with 14 points each for Italy.

Egypt - Russia 55-85
Russia thumped Egypt to reach the quarterfinal stage. Russia looked dominant from start to finish. They built a 36-22 halftime lead. They followed with a 29-11 run in the third quarter to clear off for good. Anastasiia Kosu (185-F-05, agency: LBM Management) posted 16 points and 14 rebounds for Russia. Sandy Abdellatif (180-PF-02) answered with 14 points for Egypt.

Brazil - Czech Republic 64-74
Czech Republic reached the next round of the World Cup as they saw off Brazil. Katerina Zeithammerova (162-PG-02) and Petra Malikova (178-G-02) came up with 15 points each for the winners. Czech Republic led by one point at halftime 34-33 but they went on a 21-11 run in the third quarter to clear off for good. Raiane Dias (170-SG-03) chipped in 19 points for Brazil.

Australia - Argentina 66-35
Australia cruised Argentina in Round of 16 battle. Nyadiew Puoch (189-C-04) scored 15 points to lead the winners. Australia set the tone with a 39-12 first half run. They held Argentina to 8 points in the fourth quarter to race to the win. Kate Deeble (167-G-03) banked in 13 points for Australia. Magali Vliches answered with 10 points for Argentina.

Spain - Japan 71-64
Spain advanced into the quarterfinal after they held off Japan. The Asian team led by 3 points at the big break 38-35. Japan extended the lead at 5-point mark heading into the fourth term. But Spain responded with a 19-7 run in the fourth frame to snatch the win. Elena Buenavida (174-PG-04) posted 16 points for Spain. Yua Emura (160-G-02) responded with 20 points for Japan.

France - Canada 72-79
Canada outlasted France in Round of 16 in Debrecen. Canada ensured a 20-12 lead after ten minutes. However France responded with a 28-13 run in the second term to surge ahead. Canada however lived up to the challenge. The North American side used a 26-13 run in the third term to regain the advantage and rallied to the victory. Rebecca Demeke (183-G-02) notched 19 points, while Tara Wallack (181-G-03) added 16 points for Canada. Louise Bussiere (180-G/F-02) answered with 16 points for France.
