Regular Season Round 3: Lietuvos rytas - Lokomotiv 85-93

There was no surprise when Lithuanian Lietuvos rytas (1-2) lost to Russian Lokomotiv (3-0) in Vilnius 85-93 on Wednesday. Lokomotiv made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American-Liberian point guard Joe Ragland (181-89, college: Wichita St.) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 9 assists. U.S. Virgin Islands-Guyanese center Frank Elegar (208-86, college: Drexel) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Lokomotiv players scored in double figures. Greek center Loukas Mavrokefalidis (207-84) answered with 22 points and 7 rebounds and Rokas Giedraitis (200-92) added 19 points in the effort for Lietuvos rytas. Lokomotiv will face RETAbet BB (#5) in Bilbao in the next round. Lietuvos rytas will play on the road against ALBA Berlin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
