Villeneuve snatched a road win over Ferrol in the opening leg of the championship series. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 36-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Carla Leite (175-2004) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American forward Haley Peters (190-1992, college: Duke) contributed with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Point guard Angela Mataix (179-2000) answered with 17 points and 7 assists and Irish forward Claire Melia (190-1999, college: St.Joseph's) added 12 points and 6 assists in the effort for Ferrol.
