Trenkwalder RE used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Bamberg 70-67 on Wednesday night. Brose Baskets were trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 21-17 charge of Trenkwalder RE, which allowed them to win the game. They made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Brose Baskets were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for point guard Andrea Cinciarini (193-86) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Lithuanian Rimantas Kaukenas (192-77, college: Seton Hall) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Five Trenkwalder RE players scored in double figures. American guard Carlon Brown (195-89, college: Colorado) answered with 26 points and the other American import guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Brose Baskets. Brose Baskets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Trenkwalder RE will face Paris-Levallois on the road in the next round. Brose Baskets will play against Telekom Baskets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
