Regular Season Round 4: Lietuvos rytas - Banvit BK 92-80

Eurocup round 4 caused change at the leadership position in the group. First defeat of Turkish Banvit BK (3-1) against Lithuanian Lietuvos rytas (3-1) 92-80 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Banvit BK. It was a key game for the top position in Group E. The game without a history. Lietuvos rytas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. 28 personal fouls committed by Banvit BK helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Gediminas Orelikas (200-90) who helped to win the game recording 27 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Adas Juskevicius (194-89) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists for the winners. American-Azerbaijani center Charles Davis (205-84, college: Alabama) replied with 20 points and American-Bulgarian point guard Earl Rowland (188-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Banvit BK. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lietuvos rytas keep a position of Group E leader, which they share with Ploiesti and Banvit BK. Banvit BK will play next round against strong Krasny Oktyabr trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Lietuvos rytas will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Hapoel Jerusalem on the road.
