Regular Season Round 4: Karsiyaka - Stelmet ZG 83-67

No shocking result in a game when Turkish Karsiyaka (3-1) beat at home Polish Stelmet (0-4) 83-67 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Karsiyaka. Stelmet was better in third quarter 24-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for Colombian-Spanish power forward Juan Palacios (206-85) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 9 rebounds. American point guard Bobby Dixon (178-83, college: Troy, agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 15 points and 7 assists for the winners. Four Karsiyaka players scored in double figures. American Chevon Troutman (202-81, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Beo Basket) replied with 9 points and 12 rebounds and Maciej Kucharek (204-93) added 13 points in the effort for Stelmet. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Karsiyaka have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group F, which they share with PAOK. Loser Stelmet still closes the standings with four games lost. Karsiyaka will face Lokomotiv in Kuban in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Stelmet will play at home against Ventspils and hopes to get finally their first victory.
