The game had a very big importance for Italian Acea as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group C. Acea edged German EWE Baskets in Roma 83-81. The hosts were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 12-point deficit before their 29-15 run, which allowed them to win the game. Acea outrebounded EWE Baskets 34-23 including 23 on the defensive glass. Croatian point guard Rok Stipcevic (185-86, agency: Alti Sport) nailed 23 points and 6 assists for the winning side and American forward Jordan Morgan (203-91, college: Michigan) accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four EWE Baskets players scored in double figures. EWE Baskets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Nancy. EWE Baskets at the other side keep the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Spirou. EWE Baskets will play next round against strong Sevilla. Acea will try to continue on its current victory against Spirou Charleroi at home.
