Very predictable result in Beograd where first ranked Lithuanian Lietuvos rytas (5-1) beat bottom-ranked Serbian Partizan (1-5) 85-76 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Lietuvos rytas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was swingman Gediminas Orelikas (200-90) who scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Antanas Kavaliauskas (207-84, college: Texas A&M, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 23 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Four Lietuvos rytas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Milan Macvan (205-89) who recorded 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Slovenian forward Edo Muric (202-91, agency: Beo Basket) added 14 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Lietuvos rytas have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group E with 5-1 record, which they share with Banvit BK. Defending Serbian champion Partizan stay at the bottom place with five games lost. Lietuvos rytas will face Ploiesti at home in the next round. Partizan will play against the second-placed Banvit BK in Balikesir and hope to win that game.
