No shocking result in a game when third ranked Russian Krasny Oktyabr (4-3) edged 5th ranked Israeli Hapoel Jerusalem (1-6) in Volgograd 69-67 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 19-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Krasny Oktyabr forced 19 Hapoel Jerusalem turnovers. It was a very good performance for American Romeo Travis (201-84, college: Akron) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. U.S. Virgin Islands forward Cuthbert Victor (197-83, college: Murray St.) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Krasny Oktyabr's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Bracey Wright (191-84, college: Indiana) answered with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American-Venezuelan Donta Smith (201-83, college: SE Illinois JC) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Hapoel Jerusalem. Krasny Oktyabr maintains third place in Group E with 4-3 record having just two points less than leader Strasbourg. Hapoel Jerusalem at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Krasny Oktyabr will face league's leader Lietuvos rytas in Vilnius in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
