Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Russian Zenit (4-4) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Latvian VEF Riga (1-7) 74-66 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-66. Worth to mention a great performance of U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and Canadian power forward Kyle Landry (207-86, college: N.Arizona) who added 14 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Janis Timma (201-92) responded with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Senegalese center Bamba Fall (217-86, college: SMU) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four VEF Riga players scored in double figures. VEF Riga's coach let to play ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Zenit maintains fourth position in Group D with 4-4 record. VEF Riga lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with seven games lost.
