Regular Season Round 9: Paris-Levallois - Telekom Bsk 87-80 OT

French Paris-Levallois (4-5) survived in overtime against German Telekom Baskets (3-6) by seven points 87-80 on Tuesday night. The victory allowed Paris-Levallois claim Last 32 place. Telekom Baskets were tied after three quarters and then recorded another tie at the end of regular time. They were eventually defeated in overtime 10-17s. Paris-Levallois outrebounded Telekom Baskets 42-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Telekom Baskets were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American power forward Sharrod Ford (206-82, college: Clemson) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). His fellow American import swingman Blake Schilb (201-83, college: Loyola, IL) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Paris-Levallois' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Lithuanian forward Tadas Klimavicius (204-82) who recorded 19 points and American point guard Eugene Lawrence (184-86, college: St.John's) added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Paris-Levallois moved-up to third place in Group A, which they share with CAI Zaragoza. Telekom Baskets lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Paris-Levallois will face leader Strasbourg IG on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Telekom Baskets will play against Trenkwalder RE (#6).
