Regular Season Round 10: Un.Olimpija - VEF Riga 90-61

Rather expected game when 6th ranked Latvian VEF Riga (1-9) was smashed by third ranked Slovenian Un.Olimpija (6-4) in Ljubljana 90-61 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Un.Olimpija led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Un.Olimpija forced 21 VEF Riga turnovers. Quite impressive performance for forward Blaz Mahkovic (201-90) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Forward Dino Muric (200-90) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Four Un.Olimpija players scored in double figures. Un.Olimpija's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Ronalds Zakis (207-87) replied with 19 points and point guard Ingus Jakovics (186-93, college: Liepaja-2) added 10 points and 4 assists in the effort for VEF Riga.
