Ploiesti was outscored by the opponent from Kuban 85-59 on Wednesday night. The game without a history. Lokomotiv led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Ploiesti's 36. They outrebounded Ploiesti 49-22 including a 38-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lokomotiv looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Derrick Brown (203-87, college: Xavier) stepped up and scored 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Anthony Randolph (211-89, college: LSU) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side Finnish-American center Gerald Lee (208-87, college: ODU) responded with 13 points and 5 rebounds and Lithuanian guard Marius Runkauskas (189-86) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lokomotiv will face Valencia Basket at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ploiesti will play against Sluc Nancy.
