French Strasbourg IG defeated Russian Unics Kazan at home 72-61. The game was mostly controlled by Strasbourg IG. Unics Kazan was better in third quarter 8-4. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Unics Kazan outrebounded Strasbourg IG 38-26 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American Matt Howard (203-89, college: Butler) nailed 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and Serbian power forward Tadija Dragicevic (206-86, agency: Beo Basket) accounted for 14 points. Georgian forward Viktor Sanikidze (203-86) came up with 9 points and 10 rebounds and Petr Gubanov (207-87, agency: Alti Sport) added 7 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Unics Kazan in the defeat. Unics Kazan's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Unics Kazan will play next round against CEZ Nymburk. Strasbourg IG will try to continue on its current victory against Zenit at Saint Petersburg.
