Sevilla was not able to use a home court advantage and was outleveled by the opponent from Oostende 94-63 on Wednesday night. The game without a history. Oostende led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Oostende outrebounded Sevilla 37-26 including 30 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Oostende looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Polish swingman Mateusz Ponitka (197-93) stepped up and scored 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and forward Pierre-Antoine Gillet (201-91) chipped in 15 points. At the losing side Latvian power forward Kristaps Porzingis (215-95) responded with 14 points and American-Ivorian swingman Derrick Byars (201-84, college: Vanderbilt) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Oostende will face Lietuvos rytas in Vilnius. Sevilla will play on the road against PGE Turow in Zgorzelec.
