Un.Olimpija was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Bamberg 71-65 on Wednesday night. Un.Olimpija trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 23 after three quarters before a 30-13 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 65-71 at the end of the game. Brose Baskets dominated on the defensive end, holding Un.Olimpija to just 7 points in third quarter. They made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. Un.Olimpija was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) stepped up and scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and American-Nigerian power forward Trevor Mbakwe (207-89, college: Minnesota) chipped in 10 points and 12 rebounds. Five Brose Baskets players scored in double figures. At the losing side Montenegrin-American forward Halil Kanacevic (203-91, college: St.Joseph's) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds and Gregor Hrovat (195-94) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Brose Baskets will face Bayern Muenchen at home and Un.Olimpija will play against JDA Dijon.
