Second Stage Round 1: Lietuvos rytas - PGE Turow 98-86

Lietuvos rytas used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Zgorzelec 98-86 on Wednesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Lietuvos rytas. PGE Turow was better in fourth quarter 27-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lietuvos rytas looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Guard Martynas Gecevicius (193-88) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners and center Ksistof Lavrinovic (209-79) chipped in 22 points. Five Lietuvos rytas players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Mardy Collins (198-84, college: Temple) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals and swingman Michal Chylinski (196-86, agency: Interperformances) scored 23 points and 5 assists. PGE Turow's coach gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Lietuvos rytas will face Oostende on the road in the next round. PGE Turow will play against Sevilla and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
