We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Thessaloniki where Greek PAOK (1-1) edged Italian AV Cantu (1-1) 78-77 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 78-77. PAOK looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Kevin Langford (204-85, college: TCU) who scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Apollonas Tsochlas (189-83) chipped in 11 points and 7 assists. American forward DeQuan Jones (203-90, college: Miami, FL) produced 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American-Bulgarian center Eric Williams (206-84, college: Wake Forest) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. PAOK will face Khimky at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. AV Cantu will play against Limoges CSP Elite.
