Second Stage Round 3: Virtus Acea - Cedevita 73-66

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Croatian Cedevita (2-1) in Roma on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Italian Virtus Acea (2-1) 73-66. Cedevita was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 23-13 charge of Virtus Acea, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 21 Cedevita turnovers and outrebounded them 34-23 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Jordan Morgan (203-91, college: Michigan) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. Canadian-Nigerian forward Melvin Ejim (198-91, college: Iowa St.) accounted for 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Power forward Tomislav Zubcic (208-90, agency: Beo Basket) came up with 15 points and 8 rebounds and center Miro Bilan (213-89) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Cedevita in the defeat. Cedevita's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Virtus Acea will again meet Cedevita in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cedevita will have a break next round.
