Second Stage Round 4: B.Muenchen - Un.Olimpija 90-84

Rather expected game when 4th ranked Slovenian Un.Olimpija (1-3) was defeated on the road by top-ranked German Bayern Muenchen (4-0) 90-84 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Un.Olimpija won fourth quarter 26-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bayern Muenchen made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Un.Olimpija was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American center John Bryant (208-87, college: Santa Clara) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import Bryce Taylor (193-86, agency: Beo Basket) who added 18 points during the contest. Five Bayern Muenchen players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Dino Muric (200-90) responded with 19 points and Montenegrin-American forward Halil Kanacevic (203-91, college: St.Joseph's) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bayern Muenchen have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending German champion maintains first position in Group K with 4-0 record. Loser Un.Olimpija dropped to the third place with three games lost. Bayern Muenchen will face bottom-ranked JDA Dijon on the road in the next round. Un.Olimpija will play against Brose Baskets in Bamberg.
