But Neptunas were not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Istanbul 94-90 on Wednesday night. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-90. Galatasaray made 27-of-29 free shots (93.1 percent) during the game. Neptunas were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) stepped up and scored 32 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his thirteen free throws !!!) for the winners and Serbian forward Vladimir Micov (201-85, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 18 points. At the losing side guard Martynas Mazeika (192-85, agency: Interperformances) responded with 17 points and guard Mindaugas Girdziunas (188-89) scored 11 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Neptunas' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Galatasaray will face AEK Athens (#5) at home in the next round. Neptunas will play against Hapoel Jerusalem and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
