Hapoel Jerusalem used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Klaipeda 74-59 on Wednesday night. The game without a history. Hapoel Jerusalem led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Neptunas' 24. Hapoel Jerusalem looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Venezuelan Donta Smith (201-83, college: SE Illinois JC) who scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. American-Bulgarian point guard Earl Rowland (188-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Hapoel Jerusalem players scored in double figures. American guard Travis Bader (196-91, college: Oakland) produced 17 points and guard Martynas Mazeika (192-85, agency: Interperformances) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Hapoel Jerusalem will face Galatasaray in Istanbul in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Neptunas will play at home against Krasny Oktyabr (#3) and hope to win that game.
