Regular Season Round 4: Krasny Oktyabr - Galatasaray 72-88

Rather expected game in Volgograd where 3rd ranked Russian Krasny Oktyabr (1-3) was defeated by top-ranked Turkish Galatasaray (4-0) 88-72 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-72. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Czech swingman Blake Schilb (201-83, college: Loyola, IL) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and American point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) who added 21 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals during the contest. At the losing side American power forward JaJuan Johnson (208-89, college: Purdue) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard D.J. Cooper (183-90, college: Ohio) scored 14 points and 7 assists. Five Galatasaray and four Krasny Oktyabr players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Galatasaray have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group F with 4-0 record. Krasny Oktyabr lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. Galatasaray will face BC Nizhny Novgorod (#4) at home in the next round. Krasny Oktyabr will play against Hapoel Jerusalem and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
