Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both third ranked Spanish CAI Zaragoza and their biggest opponent German ratiopharm Ulm had identical 2-1 record. This time CAI Zaragoza used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Ulm 69-59 on Wednesday night. It was a key game for the second position in Group C. The game was mostly controlled by CAI Zaragoza. ratiopharm Ulm was better in second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding ratiopharm Ulm to just 7 points in third quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Joan Sastre Morro (201-91) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 rebounds and Dutch center Henk Norel (214-87) who added 10 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Raymar Morgan (202-88, college: Michigan St.) responded with 11 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Da'Sean Butler (201-88, college: W.Virginia, agency: Inception Sports) scored 15 points. CAI Zaragoza (3-1) moved-up to second place in Group C. Loser ratiopharm Ulm dropped to the third position with two games lost. CAI Zaragoza will face Umana Venezia (#4) on the road in the next round. ratiopharm Ulm will play against Sluc Nancy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
