There was a minor upset in Mersin where Turkish Adana ASKI (1-1) was defeated by Russian Spartak Vidnoye (1-1) 73-67 on Wednesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Adana ASKI won third quarter 17-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Adana ASKI 45-30 including 17 on the offensive glass. Daria Kolosovskaya (182-96, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) scored 22 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Belgian center Emma Meesseman (192-93, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Lithuanian guard Kamile Nacickaite (181-89, college: Drexel) responded with 18 points and Brazilian center Erika De Souza (197-82, agency: Josep and Nicolas) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Spartak Vidnoye will face Piestanske C. (#4) in Piestany in the next round. Adana ASKI will play on the road against Besiktas in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
