Regular Season Round 3: UNI Gyor - Angers 53-70

There was no surprise when Hungarian UNI Gyor (0-3) was defeated at home by French Angers (2-1) 70-53 on Wednesday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was Swedish forward Elisabeth Egnell (186-87, college: Boston Coll.) who scored 25 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Canadian forward Lizanne Murphy (185-84, college: Hofstra) chipped in 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian point guard Tamara Radocaj (170-87, agency: Interperformances) who recorded 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Lithuanian Monika Grigalauskyte (190-92) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Angers will face Belfius Namur (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. UNI Gyor will play against Uniao Sportiva in Ponta Delgada and hopes to get finally their first victory.
