Regular Season Round 6: ALBA - Ludwigsburg 79-90

Leading ALBA Berlin (4-2) recorded its second loss at the home court. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (4-2) 90-79. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of ALBA Berlin. It was a key game for the second position in Group B. The game was mostly controlled by EnBW Ludwigsburg. ALBA Berlin was better in third quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. EnBW Ludwigsburg made 28-of-35 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 ALBA Berlin turnovers. ALBA Berlin was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Mustafa Shakur (192-84, college: Arizona, agency: Octagon Europe) had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Royce O'Neale (198-93, college: Baylor) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four EnBW Ludwigsburg players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Serbian guard Dragan Milosavljevic (198-89) with 18 points and American point guard Will Cherry (185-91, college: Montana) scored 9 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. EnBW Ludwigsburg have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with ALBA. EnBW Ludwigsburg will play against group's leader G.Canaria 2014 in Las Palmas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. ALBA Berlin will play on the road against Grissin Bon RE in Reggio Emilia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
