Regular Season Round 6: Valencia - Nancy 77-65

Everything went according to plan when top-ranked Spanish Valencia Basket (6-0) defeated at home 5th ranked French Sluc Nancy (1-5) 77-65 on Wednesday. Sluc Nancy was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Valencia Basket made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Sluc Nancy turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for Belgian point guard Sam Van Rossom (188-86) who led his team to a victory with 17 points. American center Justin Hamilton (213-90, college: LSU, agency: Priority Sports) contributed with 15 points and 4 steals for the winners. Valencia Basket's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American swingman James Bell (198-92, college: Villanova) replied with 17 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Andy Panko (203-77, college: Lebanon Valley, agency: Beo Basket) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Sluc Nancy. Valencia Basket have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group C with 6-0 record. Loser Sluc Nancy keeps the fifth place with five games lost. Valencia Basket will face group's second-placed CAI Zaragoza on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sluc Nancy will play against Umana Venezia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
