Regular Season Round 6: EWE Baskets - Telekom Bsk 77-70

Everything could happen in Oldenburg at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked EWE Baskets and one of their biggest challengers Telekom Baskets had identical 2-3 record. This time EWE Baskets used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Bonn 77-70 on Wednesday night. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-70. It was a good game for American guard Chris Kramer (191-88, college: Purdue) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 6 rebounds. The other American import center Brian Qvale (210-88, college: Montana, agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American Aaron White (206-92, college: Iowa) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and center Dirk Madrich (212-83) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Telekom Baskets. Four Telekom Baskets players scored in double figures. Telekom Baskets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. EWE Baskets have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in Group A, which they share with Nanterre. Telekom Baskets lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. EWE Baskets will face league's second-placed Dolomiti En. TR in Trento in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Telekom Baskets will play on the road against the group's leader Bilbao Basket and hope to win that game.
