Regular Season Round 8: Buducnost - Trabzonspor 79-82

No shocking result in a game in Podgorica where third ranked Turkish Trabzonspor (5-3) edged 5th ranked Montenegrin Buducnost (3-5) 82-79 on Wednesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Buducnost won fourth quarter 27-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Buducnost was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Serbian forward Novica Velickovic (205-86, agency: Beo Basket) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American-Congolese point guard Dwight Hardy (188-87, college: St.John's) chipped in 22 points and 5 assists. Trabzonspor's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American-Montenegrin point guard Omar-Sharif Cook (186-82, college: St.John's, agency: Beo Basket) produced 16 points and 5 assists and forward Bojan Subotic (203-90) added 19 points respectively for the hosts. Four Trabzonspor and five Buducnost players scored in double figures. Trabzonspor keeps a position of Group D leader, which they share with Aris and Unics. Defending Montenegrin champion Buducnost keeps the fifth place with five games lost. Trabzonspor will face Banvit BK (#4) in Balikesir in the next round. Buducnost will play on the road against the league's second-placed Unics Kazan and hope to win that game.
