Regular Season Round 8: Grissin Bon RE - Ludwigsburg 69-68
Date: December 2, 2015
A very interesting game took place in Reggio Emilia. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of second-ranked German EnBW Ludwigsburg (5-3) to fourth ranked Italian Grissin Bon RE (5-3) 69-68 in the fight for the second place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of EnBW Ludwigsburg. EnBW Ludwigsburg was ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 21-19 charge of Grissin Bon RE, which allowed them to win the game. They made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Strangely EnBW Ludwigsburg outrebounded Grissin Bon RE 39-24 including a 13-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by Lithuanian center Darjus Lavrinovic (212-79) who scored that evening 14 points and Pietro Aradori (194-88) supported him with 12 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Four Grissin Bon RE players scored in double figures. Even 7 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists by American Roderick Trice (185-84, college: S.Carolina) did not help to save the game for EnBW Ludwigsburg. His fellow American import forward Jon Brockman (201-87, college: Washington) added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Grissin Bon RE moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Ludwigsburg. Grissin Bon RE's next round opponent will be Le Mans (#5) on the road. EnBW Ludwigsburg will play against Enel Brindisi and hope to win that game.
