Regular Season Round 9: Unics - Buducnost 91-77

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Montenegrin Buducnost (3-6) lost on the road to second ranked Russian Unics Kazan (6-3) 91-77 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-77. Unics Kazan made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Unics Kazan outrebounded Buducnost 37-24 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Spanish point guard Joaquin Colom (188-88, college: Forca Lleida, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds, 13 assists and 6 steals. American-Turkish Keith Langford (193-83, college: Kansas) contributed with 26 points for the winners. Four Unics Kazan players scored in double figures. Serbian power forward Tadija Dragicevic (206-86, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 19 points and 6 rebounds and Bosnian-Montenegrin swingman Sead Sehovic (197-89) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Buducnost. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Unics Kazan keeps a position of Group D leader, which they share with Aris. Defending Montenegrin champion Buducnost keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Unics Kazan will face Trabzonspor (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Buducnost will play against Steaua CSM and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
