Regular Season Round 9: Banvit BK - Trabzonspor 71-67

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Trabzonspor (5-4) against fourth ranked Banvit BK (5-4) on Wednesday night. Visiting Trabzonspor was defeated by Banvit BK in a tough game in Balikesir 67-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Trabzonspor. Trabzonspor was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was French Adrien Moerman (203-88) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. American point guard Courtney Fortson (180-88, college: Arkansas, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 19 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Polish power forward Damian Kulig (205-87, agency: Beo Basket) who recorded 17 points and 6 rebounds and Croatian-Bosnian center Andrija Stipanovic (209-86, agency: Beo Basket) added 6 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Trabzonspor's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Banvit BK moved-up to third place in Group D, which they share with defeated Trabzonspor. Banvit BK's next round opponent will be league's leader Aris in Thessaloniki and it will be for sure the game of the week. Trabzonspor will play at home against the league's second-placed Unics Kazan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
