Regular Season Round 9: Dolomiti En. TR - Telekom Bsk 98-96

Sixth-ranked German Telekom Baskets (2-7) were very close to win a game against second ranked Italian Dolomiti En. TR (7-2) in Trento. Dolomiti En. TR managed to secure only two-point victory 98-96. However their fans expected much easier game. Dolomiti En. TR players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Telekom Baskets were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated also this game. Swingman Dominique Sutton (198-86, college: N.C.Central) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and guard Jamarr Sanders (193-88, college: UAB, agency: Two Points) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Dolomiti En. TR players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Rotnei Clarke (183-89, college: Butler) with 23 points and 8 assists and guard Jimmy McKinney (192-83, college: Missouri) scored 29 points. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Dolomiti En. TR have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of Group A leader, which they share with Bilbao Basket. Telekom Baskets lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with seven games lost. Dolomiti En. TR will play against league's leader Bilbao Basket on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Telekom Baskets will play against JSF Nanterre (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
