Regular Season Round 5: Sparta&K MR - Adana ASKI 91-70

Rather expected game when 4th placed Turkish Adana ASKI (1-4) was crushed on the road by first ranked Russian Spartak Vidnoye (4-1) 91-70 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Spartak Vidnoye. Adana ASKI was better in fourth quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Adana ASKI 40-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. Spartak Vidnoye looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Center Maria Vadeeva (193-98) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds (on 15-of-18 shooting from the field) for the winners and Belgian center Emma Meesseman (192-93, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 14 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. American point guard Riquna Williams (170-90, college: Miami, FL, agency: Regeneracom Sports) responded with 26 points and 5 rebounds and Lithuanian guard Kamile Nacickaite (181-89, college: Drexel) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Adana ASKI's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Spartak Vidnoye have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group A with 4-1 record. Adana ASKI lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with four games lost. Spartak Vidnoye will face Piestanske C. (#3) in Piestany in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Adana ASKI will play at home against the league's second-placed Besiktas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
