Regular Season Round 6: Venezia - Wasserburg 80-60

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Italian Venezia as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group E. Venezia smashed second-best German TSV 1880 Wasserburg at home 80-60. It was a key game for the top position in Group E. The game was mostly controlled by Venezia. TSV 1880 Wasserburg was better in second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for Slovakian center Marie Ruzickova (189-86, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. American point guard Ashleigh Fontenette (172-89, college: Texas, agency: Two Points) contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. French forward Soana Lucet (185-87, college: Arizona, agency: LBM Management) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and Dutch forward Marlou De Kleijn (182-92, agency: Regeneracom Sports) added 10 points in the effort for TSV 1880 Wasserburg. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Angers. Defending German champion TSV 1880 Wasserburg dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Belfius Namur.
