We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when one of their biggest challengers Bulgarian Dunav 8806 (2-4) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Russian Energy Ivanovo (1-5) 67-60 on Thursday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Energy Ivanovo dominated on the defensive end, holding Dunav 8806 to just 7 points in fourth quarter. The best player for the winners was Viktoria Medvedeva (183-91) who scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Polina Fedorova (189-95) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Gennifer Brandon (188-90, college: California) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and Serbian center Biljana Stjepanovic (190-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Dunav 8806's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Energy Ivanovo maintains fourth position in Group D with 1-5 record. Defending Bulgarian champion Dunav 8806 keeps the third place with four games lost.
