Regular Season Round 6: Nymburk - Landes 82-61

Date: December 17, 2015
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when top-ranked French Basket Landes (5-1) were crushed on the road by second ranked Czech Basketball Nymburk (4-2) 82-61 on Thursday. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in Group F. The game without a history. Basketball Nymburk led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Basketball Nymburk forced 19 Basket Landes turnovers and outrebounded them 44-28 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Basketball Nymburk looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian power forward Egle Siksniute (198-91) who scored 25 points and 8 rebounds. Russian-Ukrainian center Aleksandra Khomenchuk (202-89) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Croatian center Iva Sliskovic (190-84, college: S.Carolina) who recorded 14 points and 5 rebounds and American-Dominican Carmen Guzman (172-85, college: UAB, agency: Merit Management Group) added 7 points and 5 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Basketball Nymburk maintains second position in Group F with 4-2 record having just seven point less than leader Flying Foxes, which they share with Angers. Loser Basket Landes still keep top place with one game lost.
