Regular Season Round 1: Un.Olimpija - Lokomotiv 64-72

An interesting game was played in Ljubljana where Russian Lokomotiv (#4) beat host Slovenian Un.Olimpija (#3) 72-64 on Wednesday evening. American Kenny Gabriel (209-89, college: Auburn) stepped up and scored 17 points for the winners and Greek power forward Ian Vougioukas (212-85, college: St.Louis) chipped in 9 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side Serbian Nikola Jankovic (207-94, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Montenegrin center Stevan Milosevic (211-85, agency: Interperformances) scored 5 points and 9 rebounds. Un.Olimpija's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lokomotiv will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Un.Olimpija will play against ratiopharm Ulm (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
