Regular Season Round 2: Valencia - Hapoel J-M 77-81

Very important is a home loss of Spanish Valencia Basket (1-1) against Israeli Hapoel Jerusalem (1-0) on Wednesday night. Host Valencia Basket was defeated by Hapoel Jerusalem in a tough game in Valencia 77-81. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Valencia Basket won third quarter 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Valencia Basket 39-28 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Jerome Dyson (191-87, college: Connecticut) who scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import point guard Curtis Jerrells (185-87, college: Baylor, agency: Stealth Sport) chipped in 18 points. Guard Rafael Martinez (190-82) produced 22 points and Montenegrin Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: BeoBasket) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Valencia Basket's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Hapoel Jerusalem's next round opponent will be Un.Olimpija (#5) in Ljubljana.
