Regular Season Round 2: PINKK-Pecsi - MBA 65-71

Not a big story in a game when Hungarian PINKK-Pecsi (0-2) lost at home to Russia MBA (2-0) 71-65 on Wednesday. PINKK-Pecsi trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 20-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 65-71 at the end of the game. They outrebounded PINKK-Pecsi 48-34 including 34 on the defensive glass. PINKK-Pecsi was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Olga Gorbacheva (192-88, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Ekaterina Sytnyak (185-82, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 8 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Serbian power forward Nevena Markovic (193-93, college: IUPUI) replied with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Slovenia guard Katarina Ristic (170-84, agency: Two Points) added 14 points and 4 assists in the effort for PINKK-Pecsi. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MBA will face Abdullah Gul in Kayseri in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. PINKK-Pecsi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Pecs PEAC-Pecs.
