Regular Season Round 2: Lulea Basket - Flammes 67-97

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Swedish Lulea Basket's (0-2) home loss to French Flammes (2-0) 67-97 on Thursday. The game without a history. Flammes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Flammes forced 27 Lulea Basket turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Flammes looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Lulea Basket's players. American center Alicia DeVaughn (193-91, college: Maryland, agency: Josep and Nicolas) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Guard Amel Bouderra (160-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Forward Anna Barthold (185-80, college: St.Peter's) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Katie Bussey (175-90, college: Montana St., agency: LBM Management) added 14 points and 7 assists in the effort for Lulea Basket. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Flammes will face TSV 1880 Wasserburg at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lulea Basket will play against Udominate and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
