Regular Season Round 4: PEAC-Pecs - MBA 87-61

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when their biggest opponent Russian MBA (2-2) was rolled over on the road by third ranked Hungarian PEAC-Pecs (2-2) 87-61 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by PEAC-Pecs. MBA was better in fourth quarter 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to MBA's 22 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. PEAC-Pecs forced 20 MBA turnovers and outrebounded them 42-27 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Diana Furesz (173-84, agency: Interperformances) fired 14 points for the winners. Serbian point guard Sanja Mandic (178-95, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 6 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Four PEAC-Pecs players scored in double figures. Ekaterina Sytnyak (185-82, agency: LBM Management) produced 7 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Anna Leshovceva (181-87) added 15 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. PEAC-Pecs moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with defeated MBA. PEAC-Pecs will face league's leader Abdullah Gul in Kayseri in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. MBA will play at home against PINKK-Pecsi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
